Cellphones banned in courts

Lahore - The Lahore High Court (LHC) has banned the management of visitors, including lawyers and litigants to carry cell phones in court during the examination of cases.
The ban was imposed after the arrest of one of the litigants who were taking photographs of the paintings of former judges of the court room of Justice LHC President Omar Atta Bandial during procedures Thursday.Although any notice so far not been granted by the Department of LHC, signed notices were pasted on the doors of the courts almost all judges in LHC headquarters in the provincial capital.
The thousands of litigants are suffering from the ban, but it will be a challenge especially for lawyers who do not hesitate to throw shoes at the judges, even when decisions are announced against their expectations.
